On February 7th, five piece indie rock band Sarah and the Sundays celebrated the release of their newest album, Like A Damn Dog, with an exclusive album release show at Austin’s Parish. The group, who has built quite the dedicated fanbase in Austin, impressively sold out the Friday night show. Anyone within a few blocks from the venue could see the long line wrapped around the venue, filled with excited fans. Shortly after 11pm, Sarah and the Sundays were welcomed to the stage by a burst of cheers from the crowd. In typical release-show fashion, the band played through Like A Damn Dog from front to back, including fan favorite singles “The Cue” and “Skin and Bone.” Following the album’s completion, the crowd was surprised with a mini set of some of the band’s top hits, featuring songs like “Moving On” and “Vices.” Everyone swayed in unison, singing each lyric with their own nostalgic ties. Between frontman Liam Yorgensen’s emotive vocals, the band’s effortless on-stage chemistry, and the celebratory feeling around the band’s new album, the night was an unforgettable one for everyone in attendance.
