The Japanese House

Gallery by Elina Carrasco

Launching their performance at Emo’s in Austin with "Sad To Breathe" from the recent album, "In The End It Always Does," The Japanese House immediately established an intoxicating atmosphere. The band's cosmic sound beautifully intertwined with pragmatic lyrics, setting the tone for an extraordinary show. Lead singer Amber Bain went beyond the music, actively engaged the audience by reading out signs, capturing cheeky photos, and even shared the stage with a fan during "Chewing Cotton Wool," creating an intimately personable experience.

The Japanese House's stage presence, coupled with the emotive journey through "In The End It Always Does," made for an unforgettable night, leaving the audience enamored by Amber. Towards the end of the set when they said their goodbyes and exited the stage, the audience clamored for an encore. Responding to their enthusiasm, she returned, taking a seat behind the piano. In a tender moment, she sang “One for sorrow, two for Joni Jones,” dedicated to her dog, Joni. After dancing and singing their hearts out all night long, Emo’s fell into a hushed stillness as Amber delivered the heartfelt ode. The Japanese House's mesmerizing stage presence is an unmissable experience. With every opportunity, Amber expressed her gratitude and love for those in attendance and you can really feel all that love through the performance.
