On July 12, 2024, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion housed Cage the Elephant on their eagerly-awaited Neon Pill tour. The alternative rock band, led by an enthusiastically charged vocalist — Matthew Schultz — performed with an energy so roaring that the audience could not help but match the excitement. From performing long-time known fan-favorites such as “Spiderhead”, “Cold Cold Cold”, and “Cigarette Daydreams”, to newer songs from the eccentric recent album of theirs, Neon Pill, Cage the Elephant kept the magic alive in the Pavilion, both through their music and their connection to their audience. As guitarist Brad Schultz stepped up to the barricade to play the tunes amongst the crowd, the atmosphere lit up with an energy like no other. The audience sung, screamed, jumped, and danced together, capable of such an experience through their shared love for Cage the Elephant and the music that brought everyone in to pack the 16,000 capacity amphitheatre to full.
